It's not quite as positive a step forward as full ad-free listening, but it's still a change for the better. It's possible to download these for offline listening. Prime users can also check out on-demand All-Access playlists that are personalized for their tastes. They'll have access to Amazon Music's full catalog of more than 100 million songs (50 times more than before) without ads. Amazon Prime Music lives on, giving Prime members the ability to stream a couple million songs as part of their Prime subscription. Music Unlimited also won’t replace Amazon Prime Music altogether. It’s a decent extra for Prime subscribers, but it offers a fraction of the music the major streaming services do. A couple of years ago, Amazon Prime Music launched, and it has about two million songs on demand.
This isn’t Amazon’s first stab at a streaming-music service, but it’s certainly its most ambitious and compelling effort.
